The Hottest States for Travel Pharmacist Jobs

In celebration of National Pharmacist Day (January 12), we analyzed our listing data to find the top four states where we’re seeing the most travel pharmacist jobs so far this year.

Arizona

Living in a snowy area of the country and want to get out of the cold? We’ve been seeing a lot of demand for travel pharmacists in sunny and warm Arizona!

There are plenty of things to do and see in Arizona, such as the Grand Canyon, a stunning natural formation spanning 277 miles that features colorful ravines as deep as 6,000 feet.

Although Arizona is the Grand Canyon state, there’s much more to it than that. Take a trip on days you’re not working to Phoenix or Sedona, two beautiful cities that are definitely worth some exploration.

California

One of the largest states in the country by both area and population, California (also known as the Golden State) is home to a diverse variety of natural biomes, from green forests in the north to arid deserts in the state’s south. 

You also can’t take an assignment in California without trying to check out some of its world-famous cities, such as Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego, and San Francisco. Whether you take a guided tour of Hollywood or take photos near the Golden Gate Bridge, there’s always something to do or see in California.

Indiana 

Calling all Hoosiers (and those who want to become an honorary one)! We’ve been seeing demand in Indiana for travel pharmacists so far in 2024. 

Located right in the heart of the midwest, Indiana is perhaps best-known for its capital and largest city, Indianapolis. While you may or may not find a travel pharmacist job in the city proper, it is an excellent destination for when you have some time off during the duration of your assignment. 

When you’re visiting the city, be sure to check out some fun attractions such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is home to the famous Indy 500 race. In addition, Indianapolis has fun destinations like the Indianapolis Zoo and the city’s Museum of Art, which are perfect places for those who aren’t into motorsports to visit.

New Mexico

Last, but not least, on our list of the hottest states for travel pharmacist jobs is New Mexico, also known as the Land of Enchantment. 

New Mexico is known for its sweeping deserts, including White Sands National Park, the world’s largest gypsum dunefield. But the state also has some stunning cities, such as Santa Fe and Albuquerque, which are both great places to visit when you have some time off from your assignment.
