Job Description

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse (ER)

Job Location: Alaska

Type of Facility: Critical Access Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Start Date: Mid May

Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts for 3 days per week (7 AM - 7 PM) 


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all age ranges

- Work collaboratively with a team of 2 nurses and one physician per shift

- Maintain a patient ratio of 2:1 in a 5-bed ER setting

- Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation

- Assist in stabilizing and transferring trauma patients as needed

- Provide care for behavioral health patients in the Medical-Surgical unit

- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

- Participate in continuing education and skills development

- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols


Requirements:

- Current Alaska RN license

- Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience

- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
