Job Description
Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Job Location: California
Type of Facility: Primary Stroke Center Hospital
Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in a fast-paced 43-bed Emergency Department
- Care for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients (10% pediatric)
- Handle various emergencies including stroke, STEMI, and critical care cases
- Perform blood transfusions and manage DKA patients
- Follow ESI/ENA standards for patient triage and care
- Collaborate with CNAs, Techs, and occasional LVN support
Requirements:
- Active California RN license
- Minimum 1.5 years of ER nursing experience
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- LA County fire card (30-minute online certification)
- Strong clinical skills in stroke, STEMI, and critical care
- Understanding of DKA pathophysiology and management
- Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable
