Job Description
Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Job Location: California
Type of Facility: 59-Bed Medical Center
Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Start Date: Early March
Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts (11a - 11p) for 3 days per week
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, active emergency room environment
- Manage a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Handle a 4:1 patient ratio efficiently and effectively
- Participate in daily shift huddles to ensure seamless patient care
- Assist in managing a high volume of mental health and psychiatric patients
- Work collaboratively with a team of 40-48 nurses and 11 CNAs/ER techs per shift
- Utilize Epic EMR system for accurate and timely documentation
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling various emergency situations, including stroke and STEMI cases
- Adapt to the unique challenges of serving a large homeless population
Requirements:
- Current California RN license
- Minimum 2+ years of ER nursing experience
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, MAB, and CPI
