Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR)
Job Location: Utah
Type of Facility: Healthcare Facility
Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: 10 hour shifts for 4 days per week + some call coverage
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation
- Prepare patients using appropriate body mechanics
- Identify and perform appropriate exams based on patient needs
- Operate equipment/instrumentation to produce quality images
- Follow proper patient identification protocols
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage
- Maintain work area and stock supplies
- Transport patients as needed
- Develop knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and techniques
- Apply closure devices, suture sheaths, or remove sheaths and apply pressure for hemostasis
- Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety
- Operate imaging equipment correctly
- Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort
- Assist in procedures as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- ARRT registration
- Utah Rad Tech License
- BLS Certification
- Vascular/Interventional radiography certification or one year of Angio/Interventional experience
- ACLS or PALS certification (preferred)
