Job Description

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Job Location: Washington

Type of Facility: Critical Access Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 12 hour night shifts (7pm to 7:30am) with a 6 on/8 off rotation and some weekend coverage 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care in a Labor and Delivery unit with swing bed capabilities

- Assist in the Emergency Department and MedSurg unit as needed

- Perform triage duties and manage patient care throughout the entire process

- Conduct NSTs and general pre/post-partum and nursery duties

- Provide patient education and discharge planning

- Work with a diverse patient population, including adults, OB patients, and occasional pediatrics

- Collaborate with a team of 2 RNs and 1 CNA per shift

- Float to ICU or ER when necessary, assisting with low-level RN tasks

- Operate OB and fetal monitoring equipment

- Stabilize and prepare sick infants for transfer to higher-level facilities

- Adapt to a Level 1 Nursery environment

Requirements:

- Active Washington State license

- AWHONN, NRP, and BLS certifications (required)

- STABLE certification (preferred)

- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, with OB and Emergency Department exposure

- Ability to provide continuity of care from admission to discharge
