Job Description
Job Title: Medical Lab Technician
Job Location: Illinois
Type of Facility: Hospital
Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: 3p-11:30p or 11p-7:30a shifts for 3-5 days per week
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory analyses on various specimens
- Complete accurate reports for tests performed
- Ensure quality control criteria are met before issuing reports
- Operate laboratory equipment including sysxme, abids architect chemistry analyzer, and echo blood bank instrument
- Handle approximately 100 samples per day on each bench
- Utilize Cerner EMR system proficiently
- Perform general laboratory operations and run quality control
- Float between different benches as needed
- Work collaboratively with a team of 20-25 laboratory staff
- Adapt to rotating shift schedule including weekends and holidays
Requirements:
- ASCP certification
- Proficiency in Cerner EMR system
- Experience with Echo for Blood Banking
- Generalist experience in Hematology (including differential reading) and Chemistry
- Previous travel experience required
