Job Description
Job Title: Medical Lab Technician
Job Location: Maine
Type of Facility: Medical Laboratory
Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
Start Date: Early June
Work Schedule: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform general laboratory procedures with a strong emphasis on phlebotomy skills
- Operate laboratory equipment including Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU and Access 2 Immunoassay
- Conduct blood banking procedures using tube method
- Work with Siemens Rapid Point system
- Collaborate with at least one other team member during afternoon and evening shifts
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, especially during 5 weekend shifts
- Adapt to flexible scheduling to cover various shifts as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the facility's EMR system
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and quality control procedures
- Assist in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment
Requirements:
- ASCP Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MLT or MT
- Strong phlebotomy skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
