Job Description

Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse (MedSurg)

Job Location: Missouri

Type of Facility: 200-bed Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive care to adult patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit

- Manage a patient ratio of typically 5:1

- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data

- Administer medications and manage various types of IVs, including central lines

- Perform NG tube insertions and manage feeding, including TPN

- Manage and monitor various drips, including Heparin drips

- Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation

- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team

- Ensure high-quality patient care and safety

- Adapt to varying patient needs and acuity levels


Requirements:

- Current compact or Missouri state license

- Minimum of 1 year of Med-Surg experience

- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

- Strong critical thinking and time management skills

- Ability to work night shifts
