Job Description
Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT)
Job Location: Iowa
Type of Facility: Hospital Therapy Unit
Length of Assignment: 13-26 weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services primarily for orthopedic and surgical cases
- Treat 8-10 patients per shift in the outpatient therapy unit
- Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation
- Float to the inpatient unit for ortho/surgical and some OB cases (once tenured)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP, and PTA
- Treat adult patients primarily, with some pediatric and OB cases
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in continuing education and skills development
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols
Requirements:
- Current Iowa State Physical Therapy license (or Compact)
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a diverse clinical setting
