Job Description

Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse

Job Location: Kansas

Type of Facility: Critical Access Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Early April

Work Schedule: 10-12 hour night shifts for 3-4 nights per week

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care in a 10-bed Senior Behavioral Health Unit

- Conduct patient intake screenings, evaluations, and triage assessments

- Perform medication administration and monitor geriatric patients throughout shifts

- Educate patients and families about self-care

- Collaborate with a team of 2 nurses and 2 aides per shift

- Maintain a patient ratio of 5:1

- Utilize Evident EMR system for documentation

- Adapt to a team-oriented and friendly work environment

- Assist with other nursing duties as needed

Requirements:

- Current Kansas or Compact RN license

- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN, preferably in psychiatric or geriatric care

- BLS and ACLS certifications
