Job Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Job Location: Illinois

Type of Facility: 150-bed hospital with Level 3 Trauma Center

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts (7 p.m. - 7 a.m. weekdays), with one weekend per month


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide respiratory care in various departments, including ICU, ER, and ACU

- Perform oxygen rounds and treatments

- Respond to code blue and rapid response situations

- Manage ventilators, bypads, and optiflows in the ICU

- Assist with neonatal care and bypass procedures in the ER

- Complete accurate and timely documentation

- Conduct EKGs on weekends

- Work with Nihon Kohden monitors and ventilators

- Collaborate with a diverse staff mix, including other respiratory therapists

- Adapt to varying patient loads

- Provide care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric

- Utilize Meditech EMR system


Requirements:

- Valid Illinois RRT or CRT license

- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS

- Couple years of respiratory therapy experience

- Ventilator experience required

- Neonatal and pediatric experience preferred
