Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Job Location: Iowa

Type of Facility: Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week (2 shifts 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 1 shift 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM) with rotating weekends

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders across all age groups (Neonate to Geriatric)

- Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities

- Supervise respiratory care students

- Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures

- Maintain accurate patient records

- Select, assemble, check, and operate respiratory equipment

- Provide high-quality respiratory care to all patients

- Handle an average of 20+ patients per shift

- Utilize Cerner EMR system (transitioning to Epic)

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

- Adapt to working with diverse patient populations

Requirements:

- Valid Iowa state RRT license (takes 2 weeks to obtain)

- NRP and BLS certifications

- Extensive experience working with patients of all ages

- Flexibility to work varied shifts and rotating weekends
