Job Description
Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Location: California
Type of Facility: Outpatient Facility
Length of Assignment: 26 weeks
Start Date: Immediately
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations
- Perform swallow evaluations in the hospital setting
- Provide follow-up treatments for patients on the caseload
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding diet recommendations
- Add/modify diet orders based on swallow assessments
- Attend ICU rounds as requested by the manager
- Provide diagnostic evaluations of communicative and swallowing functions
- Deliver treatment for communicative and swallowing dysfunctions
- Complete thorough and timely documentation for third-party reimbursement
- Conduct periodic in-service training programs for staff
- Participate in patient care conferences and speech/language pathology staff meetings
- Contribute to program development as appropriate
- Engage in professional continuing education
- Supervise student interns, volunteers, and CFYs as assigned
- Perform 2-4 Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies per week
- Manage a daily caseload of 3-5 evaluations and 3-4 treatments
Requirements:
- Active California SLP license
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Prior outpatient experience
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
