Surgical Technician – Colorado

Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Technician

Job Location: Colorado

Type of Facility: Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7AM - 7PM, likely Friday-Sunday

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assist in a wide variety of surgical procedures, excluding burns, transplants, and cardiac surgeries

- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies

- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments

- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and providing technical support

- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures

- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, including RNs, anesthesiologists, and surgeons

- Participate in trauma cases as part of the trauma team

- Adhere to all safety protocols and hospital policies

- Operate and maintain various surgical equipment

- Assist in patient positioning and preparation for surgery

- Perform pre-operative and post-operative duties as required

- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR system

Requirements:

- Active Colorado state license

- Minimum 2 years of experience

- ACLS and PALS certifications

- Flexibility to work weekends and potential on-call shifts

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy equipment
