Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Technician

Job Location: Kansas

Type of Facility: Hospital - Women's Services

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 12 hour night shifts (7PM - 7AM), likely weekend coverage

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections

- Support non-stress tests (NSTs) and circumcisions

- Circulate in the operating room

- Apply labor positioning techniques, including Spinning Babies methods

- Manage obstetric emergencies

- Work with patient ratios of 1-2:1 for labor and 3-4:1 for postpartum care

- Utilize CPN and Meditech EMR systems for documentation

- Operate equipment including GE fetal monitors, Monica Novii, and Alaris pumps

- Collaborate with a team including RNs, CSTs, and Advanced Care Technicians (ACT)

- Float within Women's units as needed

- Adhere to all safety protocols and healthcare regulations

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience

- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and IFMC certifications

- Experience with OR circulating, labor positioning, and managing OB emergencies
