Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Technician

Job Location: Texas

Type of Facility: Hospital

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Start Date: Immediately

Work Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with on-call requirements 

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to:

 - Orthopedic: X-lif, A-lif, total joints (Mako Robot), ortho trauma

 - Neurosurgery: Decompression, ACDF, Craniotomy

 - Robotic surgery: thoracic, general, gynecological, and urological procedures

 - General surgery: open and laparoscopic procedures

 - Cardiovascular: CABG, valve surgeries, aortic procedures, TAVR, TCAR, TEVAR, EVAR

- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies

- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments

- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and providing technical support

- Operate specialized surgical equipment

- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures

- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, including RNs, anesthesiologists, and surgeons

- Adhere to all safety protocols and hospital policies

- Participate in on-call rotations as required

Requirements:

- Active Texas state license

- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Tech

- Experience in orthopedic, neurosurgery, trauma, and robotic surgeries

- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy equipment
