Susan J. Kelly

BS, CNMT

Susan has been a certified nuclear medicine technologist since 1985. She received her bachelor of science in biology, with a concentration in nuclear medicine technology from Worcester State University. While most classroom studies were held on the WSU campus, clinical instruction was completed at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center. After graduation, she began her career as a nuclear medicine technologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. During her 15 year tenure as a staff technologist at MGH, she had the opportunity to see and perform a myriad of exams as well as be part of exciting research studies that were taking place at the facility.

After 15 years as a staff technologist, Susan took a leap of faith into the world of management and took a position as the assistant chief technologist for the nuclear medicine department at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a position she held for the next seven years. Susan found this to be an interesting mix of being both a working technologist, as well as a manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, as well as overseeing the staff technologists. Then, Susan took a bolder step into the world of management by taking a position at Newton-Wellesley Hospital as the operations manager for both the nuclear medicine and cardiology departments. This was a very rewarding position, as it let her use all the knowledge she had gained over the years to help develop and grow these two important diagnostic areas.

Presently, Susan is the chief technologist for New England PET Imaging System. New England PET Imaging provides PET/CT services in the Merrimack Valley area and southern New Hampshire. The majority of their work is with oncology patients, but they also perform brain scans for Alzheimer’s research. Susan has enjoyed all aspects of her career: whether working with patients as a staff technologist or managing technologist. According to Susan, it has also been very exciting to be part of an ever evolving field of medicine.

Allison Stringer

MS, PT, FAAOMPT, CHA

Allison Stringer, physical therapist, is the clinic director for Professional Physical Therapy in the Salem, MA location. Allison received her master’s degree in physical therapy from Simmons College in 1993.

In 2000, Allison achieved the status of a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, after completing the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. During her tenure at Professional Physical Therapy, Allison joined the legal and compliance team and became Certified Health Care Auditor though the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance. As a Compliance Specialist, she assists with Internal Audit and Medical Necessity Reviews. Allison continues to treat patients and specializes in manual physical therapy for patients with orthopedic injuries to the spine and extremities, sports medicine, and wide range of women’s health issues including incontinence.

Allison has written articles on urinary incontinence, sports medicine for Skating Magazine and the Professional Skaters Magazine, and has given lectures on pregnancy and lower back pain, strength training and injury prevention at PSA-approved seminars, USFSA Regional Training Camps and Colonial Figure Skating Club sponsored seminars. Allison is also a professional figure skating Instructor and is a member of US Figure Skating, the Professional Skaters Association, and North Shore Skating Club. She continues to teach skating to hockey players for North Reading Youth Hockey.

Martha West

RN

Martha West has been an emergency room nurse and preceptor at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Mass. for the last 2.5 years. Prior to that, she worked at Lowell General Hospital for nine years in the Emergency Room and critical care units, and Lahey Clinic for two years as a RN on a cardio-thoracic surgical stepdown unit. Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, PCCN, and CEN.

Martha graduated from University of Massachusetts with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology in 1991 and earned her associate of science in nursing degree (ASN) from Middlesex Community College in 2007. Her clinical interests include cardiology, stroke and sepsis protocols, and clinical guidelines, as well as emergency medicine.

Martha joined BHS in 2018 as a clinical manager for the Nursing Division. She brings a wealth of experience from her background in clinical hospital settings. Prior experience includes working as a sales manager for Oxford International, a national recruiting firm in the engineering space.

Martha is the mom of three teens and young adults and enjoys spending her free time pursuing her passion for health, fitness and nutrition. She regularly competes in sprint triathlons in the summer months and enjoys the great outdoors.
